FROM COPACABANA TO LEME NEIGHBORHOOD.

The Leme neighborhood is, in fact, the continuation of Copacabana Beach. Popular location for the upper middle class. Leme beach stretch ends on Leme Hill where the Duque de Caxias Fort sits.

At the end of Leme beach is where one of the nicest stroll of Rio is: the Fisherman’s Path, which yields one of the most beautiful views of Copacabana Beach.

At its very beginning,  there is a bar, facing the sea, a good place to enjoy the loveliness of an evening on the waterfront.

Sitting by the wayside is the statue in honor of writer and journalist Clarice Lispector. Born in Ukraine, but naturalized Brazilian, from Pernambuco State as she liked to say, she was one of the most well known writer of the twentieth century.

The traditional “La Fiorentina”.

RESTAURANTE Part of the history of the area,  the restaurant “La Fiorentina”, that specializes in Italian food,  is the meeting point for intellectuals, artists, musicians and other talented people. On weekend nights, it’s not hard to bump into actors or actresses who, at the end of their work day, come out from the theaters to dine at “La Fiorentina”.

RESTAURANTE The stars are asked to leave their autographs on the columns and walls of the restaurant.

QUADROSOn the walls, there are dozens of pictures of famous theater and TV artists.

At the entrance, in a bronze table is the jurist, host of radio programs, sports announcer and composer of “Aquarela do Brazil” Ary Barroso, a nice tribute to the most illustrious of the faithful regulars.
