Train to Christ the Redeemer.

TRAIN TO CHRIST THE REDEEMER STATUE TROUGH THE NATIONAL TIJUCA FOREST.

The most traditional way to get to the Christ the Redeemer Statue is boarding the little train that leaves every half hour from the Cosme Velho station. See region.

A 20-minute ride cutting through the national forest.

You can buy your ticket at the local box office, or online. On the website you will find all the information about the tour, ticket prices, schedule and address.

You can also purchase tickets at any Post Office location (cash only). Credit Card purchases can be made at RIOTUR kiosks in Botafogo(inside Shopping RIOSUL), Copacabana and Downtown.  See all locations here.

During peak season the company only offers 10 tickets hourly. Higher demand increases the lines for the vans as well as for the box office in Cosme Velho. It’s best to buy tickets in advance.

PERK: Your ticket will have the day and time scheduled avoiding the wait on line and queues. There will be a number on the ticket to call in case of cancellation or re-schedule.

TIP  During Autumn and winter seasons there is a possibility of foggy weather with a low fog covering the city. But in general, throughout the day, the sun comes out. The best time would be in the middle of the day after the fog has cleared. Afternoons are best.

Here is the website to check the current weather.  See the statue LIVE.
