TAKING A TAXI IN THE RODOVIÁRIA

Rodoviária Novo Rio
Cabines de táxi comum e especial. Rodoviária Novo Rio.

Once you arrived by the Rodoviária, if you don’t have any one waiting for you, look for a taxi booth which will be in the arrival floor. There are several booths one beside the other. One for Common Taxi and three for Special Taxi. All of them work with the fixed rate, with tabulated fee according to the destination. The difference is in the type of car and the distance. The Special Taxi has a more expensive table (about 80%) than the table of the Common Taxi. The Common Taxis are yellow with a blue trim. The Special Taxi are generally bigger cars and the color varies according to the company.

WARNING: Taxi flat rate is only allowed by the city at the bus station, airports and the Port of Rio, anywhere else only by taxi meters.

WHY USE THESE TAXIS ?

Outside the bus Station you can take a irregular taxi.

IF ANYONE APPROACHES YOU, IN OR OUT OF THE BUS STATION TERMINAL, OFFERING A CAB, SAY, NO! Go to the cabin of the Cooperative, and only there, book one.

The cost for the trip should always be the amount shown on the taximeter. Avoid making any price arrangenments directly with the driver,  because you may end up paying a much higher price.
