HIKING THE MORRO DA URCA FOR THOSE WHO LIKE ADVENTURE AND NATURE.

Hiking the Morro da Urca is very fun, but before the climb, it’s worth a walk on  Praia Vermelha (Red Beach _ see region) which is just across the square of the cable car station. On the left from the beach promenade, facing the sea, there is an entrance to the Claudio Coutinho trail (see region) which is a path surrounding the hills of Urca and Sugar Loaf. THE CHARM AND SYMPATHY OF URCA, A TYPICAL CARIOCA NEIGHBORHOOD.

Urca a typical carioca neighborhood located between the sea and the rock of Sugar Loaf. There are only 17 streets total, most of them  paved in cobblestone, with preserved houses and maintained by the Historical Heritage of Rio de Janeiro,  from the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. It was a sunny Saturday, in fact a lot of sun. One of those perfect days, with blue, blue sky.
